Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) successfully launched the ISRO TV-D1 rocket

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) achieved a major milestone on Saturday by successfully executing the Test Flight Abort Mission for the Gaganyaan mission.

Later, ISRO put ‘on hold’ the launch of first test flight (TV-D1) earlier in the day at 8:45 am due to an issue with the engine ignition. However, the reason for Gaganyaan’s TV-D1 launch hold was identified and corrected.

As part of the Gaganyaan mission, the primary objective of this flight test vehicle abort mission was to demonstrate the performance of the crew escape system. Mission objectives included evaluating the Crew Escape System and its separation systems, as well as the various subsystems of the test vehicle.

This test flight was a significant achievement for India’s space exploration efforts, demonstrating the country’s ability to send humans into space. With the Gaganyaan project, India plans to demonstrate its capability in human spaceflight by sending three astronauts into orbit for a 3-day mission, landing safely in Indian territorial waters upon their return. Once the mission has been completed, India will become the fourth nation to launch a manned spacecraft after the United States, Russia, and China.
